Mrs. Beverley Lopez has been one of the leading advocates of a strong and unified private sector and served as President of The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) during the period February 2003 to December 2006. She also served on the Board of the Jamaica Exporters Association (JEA) for over fourteen years and as President of the JEA for two three-year terms.
Mrs. Lopez continues to offer dedicated service to her country and was appointed Chair of the Stella Maris Foundation in December 2006.
Over the years, she has championed the cause of the exporting community and has served as Chair of the Government/Private Sector Committee that had responsibility for the removal impediments to exporting. With her keen foresight and practical approach, Mrs. Lopez has been instrumental in the elimination of many of the constraints from the export process.
A former Vice–President of Desnoes and Geddes Ltd, Mrs. Lopez is a Director of Peak Bottling Company Ltd. and Big City Brewing Company Ltd and manages Kingston Hub Distributors. She also serves as a director of EX-IM Bank, First Global Bank and the Jamaica Public Service Company.
She was rewarded with the award of the National Honour, Commander of the Order of Distinction in 2002, for her contribution to the development of the export sector. In the National Honours and Awards list published on August 6, 2006, she was appointed a Member of the Order of Jamaica for Private Sector Leadership - a fitting tribute to a woman who continues to serve with distinction.
Beverley Lopez is married to Anthony and is a devout Catholic and deeply committed to her family. |
