Mrs.
Audrey Hinchcliffe, Prseident,

Mrs. Hinchliffe
is the founder and Principal Consultant
of Caribbean Health Management Consultants
Limited, and founder, Chief Executive
Officer and Chairman of Manpower
and Maintenance Services Limited,
a “powerhouse” in the
janitorial, grounds and landscaping
maintenance, landscaping, pest control,
carpet care and variety of related
services. After
graduating from Excelsior High
School, she pursued her professional
career as a Registered Nurse.
After migrating to the U.S.A.
in 1967, she worked in a variety
of nursing positions and attended
college, earning a B.A. in Community
Health at St. Francis College,
New York, followed shortly by
a M.Sc. in Health Administration
and 27 earned credits towards
a MBA at Long Island University.
In
the USA, she worked as Director
of Nursing Services and Assistant
Administrator at the Flatbush
General Hospital and as Deputy
Director of Nursing at the Harlem
Hospital, New York. She was recruited
from New York to Jacksonville,
Florida as Director of Nursing
to the University Hospital and
quickly promoted to Associated
Executive Director, in charge
of Patient Services.
In
addition, to her nursing and hospital
administration career, she held
positions as Lecturer, Adjunct
Professor and Preceptor in the
Community Health Department, St.
Joseph’s College, Brooklyn
and later as Lecturer in Health
Administration, University of
Florida. Her work in the USA earned
her a number of accolades for
community work and academic pursuits.
In
1982 Mrs. Hinchliffe left the
USA for the CARICOM Secretariat,
Guyana, where she held the position
of Health Development Officer
and later Officer in Charge of
the Health Section. At CARICOM
she was awarded a Commonwealth
Fellowship, which took her to
the University of York, U.K. where
she obtained a Certificate in
Health Economics.
She
has traveled widely internationally
serving on several high level
delegations representing CARICOM
and Commonwealth Secretariats
and as Consultant on health matters
to regional Governments and International
Health Organisations.
Mrs.
Hinchcliffe returned to Jamaica
in 1987 and established Caribbean
Health Management Consultants
Limited and in 1990, Manpower
and Maintenance Services Limited
(MMS). MMS offers Commercial Cleaning,
Portering, Ground and Landscaping
Maintenance, Pest Control and
Carpet Care Services, with over
ninety (90) clients and over fourteen
hundred (1400) workers islandwide.
Manpower is listed among “Who
Is Who in Commercial Cleaning”
2000-2001 by Building Service
Contractors Association International.
Mrs.
Hinchliffe is also the recipient
of a number on commendations and
awards among which are Nominee,
Business Observer – Business
Leader of the year 2001, Kiwanis
Club of New Kingston in Celebration
of Women – Award of Excellence.
In
2003. also under her leadership
Manpower received the Mustard
Seed Silver Award for support
to its Jerusalem Home and Caribbean
Food and Nutrition Awards for
support for the Schools Nutrition
Competition.
Manpower,
in 2002, received the PSOJ Award
for Job Creation, Certificate
of Commendation from the Jamaica
Chamber of Commerce for Best of
the Chamber Award and also the
Certificate of Appreciation received
from the Association of Health
Services Executives, of which
Mrs. Hinchcliffe is a founding
Member and first President. She
was the Ernst & Young Caribbean
Entrepreneur of the year 2003
- Services. She was also elected
President of the Jamaica Employers
Federation in July 2004.
Mrs. Hinchcliffe has been the
Chairman of the Nursing Council
of Jamaica since 1993, is a founding
member of Women Business Owners
(Jamaica) Limited, member at large
Jamaica Association of Health
Service Executives and founding
member of the Association of Commercial
Cleaning Contractors. She serves
as a member of the UTECH Advisory
Committee and formerly served
as a Member of the National Health
Insurance Steering Committee,
Ministry of Health, and Member
of the Management Review Team
for May Pen Hospital.
Mrs.
Hinchliffe is a mother of two
(2) children, Garth Hinchliffe,
General Manager at Manpower and
Dr. Annette Hinchliffe-Moseley,
a Pediatrician.
