
Mrs. Sandra Glasgow, Chief Executive

Mrs. Sandra Glasgow was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica on September 3, 2007. Prior to joining the PSOJ she was the Senior Vice President, Corporate Services at the University of Technology, Jamaica where she led the development of innovative strategies for improving productivity and customer service. She is credited with founding UTech’s Technology Innovation Centre, successfully transforming the operations of its precursor, the Entrepreneurial Centre, into a world class business incubator for start-up technology ventures and a provider of a wide range of training and business services for entrepreneurial Jamaican firms.
A graduate of the University of the West Indies, (UWI) Mona campus, she holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Zoology and Applied Botany and a Masters Degree in Business Administration, with a specialisation in the Management of Technology. She has been a member of the PSOJ Economic Policy Committee since 2007 and attended the 2003 PSOJ/Commonwealth Association for Corporate Governance (CACG) Directors’ Certification Course.
An accomplished trainer, Mrs. Glasgow has facilitated numerous training programmes and workshops in entrepreneurship, business development and strategic planning. For a number of years she taught part-time on the MBA prgramme at the Mona School of Business, University of the West Indies and has delivered a course on Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Government at the Management Institute for National Development ( MIND).
Mrs. Glasgow was Jamaica’s Eisenhower Fellow in 2000. She is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the HEART Trust/National Training Agency and also serves as a member of the Boards of Directors of the National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited, the National Export-Import Bank of Jamaica (EX-IM) and the Grace Kennedy Foundation.
Between 2005 and 2007, Mrs. Glasgow was the Team Leader for the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor in Jamaica, a research project which is the world’s largest and longest-standing study of entrepreneurial activity. She is the author of a number of papers and publications and is an avid gardener, wife and mother to two daughters.
